Lithunian-born flutist Vytenis Gurstis is the prize winner of many national and international flute competitions, namely the European Competition for flute (Thessaloniki, Greece; 2007) and BFS Young Artist Competition (London, 2012). In 2004-2009 he was the recipient of a scholarship from M. Rostropovich's fund "Support to Lithuanian Children". He studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with prof. William Bennett and holds two Master's degrees for his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, Germany - solo flute with prof. Robert Winn and contemporary chamber music with prof. David Smeyers. Vytenis is a passionate chamber music and orchestral player and has played with many orchestras and ensembles. He is currently a PhD student at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and member of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet theatre orchestra.
