Thomas Sargeaunt is a London based flautist completed an MA at the Royal Academy of Music. He graduated in 2013 with first class honours in music from Goldsmiths, University of London where he studied flute under Sarah O'Flynn. Whilst there, he was principal flute of Goldsmiths Sinfonia and the Chamber Orchestra. He was awarded a scholarship from Altus Flutes to study with Clare Southworth and Ian Clarke in the summer of 2012 and won the University Concerto Competition in 2012 playing Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Orchestra in G Major. In 2013, he was awarded a Jellinek Award by Guildford Symphony Orchestra which led to a performance of Vivaldi's Flute Concerto in C minor. He made his Purcell Room début in 2013 with a recital of contemporary music for solo flute including Berio's Sequenza and Canzona di Ringraziamento by Salvatore Sciarrino. At the Royal Academy of Music, he has studied with William Bennett and Clare Southworth and had piccolo lessons with Patricia Morris. He regularly performs with the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and the Manson Ensemble as well as various professional London ensembles. Alongside his studies Thomas also has a keen interest in flute making and repair.
